Three Reasons Why Your F-150 will be Handy This Winter

Winter driving can be scary, especially in Utah where temperatures drop and cause rain, snow, and icy roads. Having inclement weather conditions can make your daily commute dangerous, especially if you don’t have a reliable car. Buying a vehicle that is good in poor weather conditions is important if you have to drive often. Let’s see why the F-150 works great in the winter.

First, what makes a vehicle good in the snow?
·      Drivetrain – In poor weather conditions, 4x4 vehicles perform great because they are able to push power to the wheels with the most traction. All-wheel-drive is just as good and helps keep all four wheels running on the ground at all times.
·      Power – Vehicles that have engines that are capable of providing over 400 horsepower and over 500 lb-ft of torque are best for driving in the winter. These vehicles will have the extra strength to help them get out of snow if they are stuck.
·      Technology – A lot of new vehicles have awesome features that make driving in the snow so much easier. These features include safety and handling features, and other features such as Hill Descent Control™, Trailer Sway Control and the inclusion of a Terrain Management System™. These features give the truck the ability to control power, braking, and more, in a way that optimizes its poor-weather handling abilities.

Of course, knowing how to drive in bad weather plays an important part, but there are many features in a vehicle that will help handle the snow better.

Is the 2018 F-150 Raptor Good in the Snow?
The F-150 is one of America’s best-selling pickup trucks and each year they get even better. The F-150 Raptor’s handling features include:
·      4x4 drivetrain
·      High-Output 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine with 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque
·      Hill Descent Control™, Trailer Sway Control, Terrain Management System™, and Two-speed automatic four-wheel drive system with Neutral Towing Capability

So yes, the 2018 F-150 Raptor is a great pickup truck for the snow. If you want a reliable and safe pickup truck for the winter, the F-150 could be for you. Visit us at Larry H. Miller Super Ford so we can help you find your perfect match and schedule a test drive today.

What’s Happening Over at Ford Today?

With Ford Motor Company being over 100 years old, it’s no surprise that they now offer many different types of vehicles for almost every want and need. Anything from a performance-driven vehicle to an off-roading truck, it is safe to say you will find something you like at Ford. So, what’s going on over at Ford today? We’ll start off with giving you an update on Mustangs and F-150s.

Mustang Car Enthusiasts
The Mustang Club of America (MCA) preserves and promotes classic Mustangs and provides a forum for fellow Mustang car enthusiasts to share their affinity for Ford’s classic American muscle car. The MCA has grown to include many thousands of Mustang aficionados throughout the world and there are now more than 170 MCA regional groups and international affiliates. You might not have known that the MCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation, care, history, and enjoyment of all Mustang models.

In South Carolina, the Carolina Regional Mustang Club (CRMC) put on the CRMC 17th Annual Performance Driving School with driving lessons and track days for drivers of all makes and models. All enthusiasts enjoyed a weekend of fun and gained more skills on the. The club provided both classroom and in-car experienced instructors for first-timers to advanced track junkies. All interested attendees should check out next year’s event.

F-150 Off-Roading Adventures
The F-150 has been one of Fords most popular vehicles from the very beginning. Many years later, this pickup has continued to prove its worth. From off-roading capabilities to tough towing power, the F-150 is more appealing than ever.

Check out this video of Ashley and Mark of Western Spirit Cycling talking about how their F-150 is useful when they plan their off-road adventures in our very own, Moab, Utah. Moab is filled with incredible dirt roads that go into the backcountry and they say you just need the right tools to get out there and see them all. The F-150 is your go-to vehicle because they are built to handle tough conditions and you can even hook three bicycles in the back with ease. Sometimes you have to get away from it all and get connected with nature and the world around you. You can always take these types of adventures with your F-150.
