Three Reasons Why Your F-150 will be Handy This Winter

Winter driving can be scary, especially in Utah where temperatures drop and cause rain, snow, and icy roads. Having inclement weather conditions can make your daily commute dangerous, especially if you don’t have a reliable car. Buying a vehicle that is good in poor weather conditions is important if you have to drive often. Let’s see why the F-150 works great in the winter.

First, what makes a vehicle good in the snow?
·      Drivetrain – In poor weather conditions, 4x4 vehicles perform great because they are able to push power to the wheels with the most traction. All-wheel-drive is just as good and helps keep all four wheels running on the ground at all times.
·      Power – Vehicles that have engines that are capable of providing over 400 horsepower and over 500 lb-ft of torque are best for driving in the winter. These vehicles will have the extra strength to help them get out of snow if they are stuck.
·      Technology – A lot of new vehicles have awesome features that make driving in the snow so much easier. These features include safety and handling features, and other features such as Hill Descent Control™, Trailer Sway Control and the inclusion of a Terrain Management System™. These features give the truck the ability to control power, braking, and more, in a way that optimizes its poor-weather handling abilities.

Of course, knowing how to drive in bad weather plays an important part, but there are many features in a vehicle that will help handle the snow better.

Is the 2018 F-150 Raptor Good in the Snow?
The F-150 is one of America’s best-selling pickup trucks and each year they get even better. The F-150 Raptor’s handling features include:
·      4x4 drivetrain
·      High-Output 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine with 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque
·      Hill Descent Control™, Trailer Sway Control, Terrain Management System™, and Two-speed automatic four-wheel drive system with Neutral Towing Capability

So yes, the 2018 F-150 Raptor is a great pickup truck for the snow. If you want a reliable and safe pickup truck for the winter, the F-150 could be for you. Visit us at Larry H. Miller Super Ford so we can help you find your perfect match and schedule a test drive today.

Easy-to-Make Thanksgiving Stuffing Recipe to Wow Your Guests

A Thanksgiving dinner wouldn’t be complete without stuffing. Stuffing has traditionally been used to increase the flavor or meat, but now, many people serve it as a side dish to compliment turkey and other feasting foods. Have you ever wondered what stuffing really is? It often consists of cornbread or dried bread, croutons, breadcrumbs, sausage, onion, celery, salt, pepper, and other spices and herbs. Here is a simple recipe for traditional stuffing that is delicious and easy to make.

Ingredients
·      4 tablespoons butter or non-dairy margarine to keep it dairy-free
·      1 medium onion, chopped
·      3 celery stalks, cut into small pieces
·      ½ teaspoon kosher salt
·      1 teaspoon ground sage
·      1 teaspoon dry thyme
·      10 cups dried unseasoned bread cubes (found in the bread section at the grocery store)
·      1½ cups chicken or vegetable broth
·      1 egg
·      Optional garnish: ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions
1.     Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2.     Melt butter in a large pan.
3.     On medium heat, sauté celery, onion, sage, salt, and thyme for five minutes.
4.     Turn off heat. Add bread cubes and stir into the sautéed mixture you just made.
5.     Pour chicken broth over bread cubes, folding carefully so they don’t break too much.
6.     In a small bowl, whisk one egg and add it to the stuffing mix. Continue to fold until the egg is incorporated into the mix.
7.     Scoop the stuffing into a casserole dish and bake uncovered for 40 minutes, or until the top is lightly browned.
